Karnal, July 24- Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr. Anand Kumar Sharma presided over the meeting of the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Sagga Management Committee held at the Mini Secretariat on Friday. He addressed all agenda items with seriousness, placing particular emphasis on student safety and basic infrastructure.
The meeting covered various important topics, including student safety, health, sports facilities, and campus development. It was stated that the registration of all eligible students in the district for the JNVST-2027 exam would be ensured, with a special focus on maximizing student participation; the DC directed the District Education Officer (DEO) to ensure 100% registration.
To address the issue of waterlogging caused by the overflowing pond during the rainy season, the DC instructed the Block Development and Panchayat Officer (BDPO) to clear the pond's drainage path and establish a proper water discharge system, adding that he would personally inspect the site. Prioritizing the health of students and staff, it was decided to organize regular medical health check-up camps and conduct periodic fogging on the campus; the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) was directed to ensure fogging is carried out within a day or two.
Discussions were also held on organizing awareness programs—in collaboration with the SDMA—regarding fire safety, flood protection, and other disaster management topics. The DC directed that such camps be organized. Additionally, it was decided to enlist officials from relevant departments to conduct workshops on cyber security, Red Cross activities, and fire safety within the school.
He stated that a consensus was reached to further strengthen the school's security by having the CPWD conduct a safety audit of the building and taking the necessary steps to rectify any deficiencies and obtain a fire safety certificate.  Proposals such as constructing speed breakers on the main road outside the main gate, installing paving blocks around the boxing ring, setting up large streetlights on the grounds, and providing two water coolers on the campus were also discussed during the meeting. In response, the DC stated that the water coolers would be provided within a week.
Office bearers and members of the School Management Committee were present at the meeting.
