Ghar Ghar Solar Campaign Launched in Punjab

Amritsar: Tata Power Solar Rooftop has launched its flagship 'Ghar Ghar Solar' campaign in Punjab today. Alongside this, Tata Power has introduced battery storage solutions that will strengthen access to clean, reliable, and affordable energy across the state.
This campaign is designed to meet the evolving energy needs of Punjab’s residential consumers, businesses, and agricultural communities. Its objective is to create an integrated clean energy ecosystem that supports energy generation, storage, and consumption. By combining innovative technology, financing support, and local community engagement, Tata Power aims to accelerate the transition toward clean, sustainable, and self-reliant energy solutions across urban, semi-urban, and rural markets.
CEO and MD Dr. Praveer Sinha said, "Through this campaign, we are creating a comprehensive ecosystem that brings together rooftop solar, battery storage, and accessible financing solutions, enabling consumers to generate, store, and utilize clean energy with greater confidence."
Interest in adopting rooftop solar is steadily rising in Punjab, driven by increasing electricity consumption, growing awareness regarding sustainability, and the need to reduce long-term energy costs. The state's robust agricultural economy, rising residential demand, and increasing focus on energy independence make it a key market for distributed renewable energy solutions.
Capitalizing on this momentum and the rising adoption rate of rooftop solar under the 'PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana,' Tata Power Solar Rooftop plans to expand solar adoption in Punjab by facilitating installations for over 100,000 consumers in the next three years. This initiative will contribute a cumulative rooftop solar capacity of approximately 500+ Megawatt-peak (MWp). This initiative complements the Government of India's rooftop solar program, under which households are eligible for subsidies of ?30,000 for a 1 kW system, ?60,000 for a 2 kW system, and up to ?78,000 for systems of 3 kW or higher, making the adoption of clean energy highly affordable.
