Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum to be held in Rohtak on August 20

Chandigarh, August 19 - Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam is continuously striving to provide reliable, quality and uninterrupted power supply to consumers as well as to ensure early resolution of their electricity related complaints. In this direction, the Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum will be held on August 20, 2026 from 11 am to 1 pm at the Conference Hall of Rajiv Gandhi Bijli Bhawan, Power House, Rohtak.
Disclosing this information, a spokesperson of the Electricity Corporation said that under Regulation 2.8.2, the Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum will hear complaints of financial disputes involving an amount of more than Rs 1 lakh and up to Rs 3 lakh. He said that the complaints of consumers of Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat, Jhajjar and Rohtak districts falling under the Rohtak zone will be redressed through this forum.
The spokesperson said that during this period, complaints related to incorrect electricity bills, electricity tariff issues, meter security, faulty meters and voltage will be heard. However, cases related to electricity theft, misuse of electricity and fatal and non-fatal electrical accidents will not be considered by this forum.
He said that before presenting a complaint related to financial dispute between the consumer and the corporation before the forum, the consumer will have to deposit an amount as per the rules. This amount will be decided on the basis of the average electricity bill paid by the consumer during the last six months, the amount claimed for each month or the amount equal to the electricity bill payable by him, whichever is less.
The spokesperson also clarified that the complainant will have to certify that the relevant matter is not pending before any court, authority or other forum. Cases pending in a court or any other forum will not be considered during the proceedings of the Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum.
Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam has appealed to the consumers of the districts falling under Rohtak zone to attend the event to be held on August 20 from 11 am to 1 pm at the Conference Hall of Rajiv Gandhi Bijli Bhawan, Power House, Rohtak, to present their grievances before the forum and avail the available redressal mechanism.
