Nawanshahr: District Magistrate Gulpreet Singh Aulakh, exercising his powers under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) 2023, has imposed a ban on the display of advertisements and hoardings on government buildings within the district. 
Additionally, the ban prohibits the placement of advertisements and hoardings on private buildings, national highways, link roads, and trees without the prior approval of the relevant departments or property owners.
According to the issued orders, such advertisements and hoardings distract motorists and pedestrians, increasing the risk of road accidents. Consequently, these orders have been issued in the interest of public safety and will remain in effect until September 4, 2026.
