Ayurveda is incomplete without Sanskrit Prof Satish Gandharva

Chandigarh, August 29:- Sanskrit Day-2026 was grandly organized at the National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA), Panchkula as part of a series of programs organized on the occasion of the 11th Ayurveda Day. The program was inaugurated by Dean-in-charge Professor Satish Gandharva by lighting the lamp and worshipping Maa Saraswati.
Under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor of the institute, Professor (Dr.) Sanjeev Sharma and Dean Professor Gulab Chand Pamnani, under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, the doctors and students resolved to preserve Sanskrit, the language of the original texts of Ayurveda.
Dean-in-charge Professor Satish Gandharva said that Sanskrit is not just an old language, but is the foundation of the Indian knowledge tradition. The original form of Ayurveda is incomplete without Sanskrit. Therefore, there is a need to protect and enhance the knowledge, science and knowledge of Ayurveda embedded in Sanskrit.
He said that many original and authentic texts of Ayurveda have been composed in Sanskrit. In such a situation, the study of Sanskrit is important to understand the principles, treatment systems and the depth of Indian knowledge tradition of Ayurveda.
Professor Gandharva said that Sanskrit not only has literature, religion and spirituality, but also has a message of human welfare, environmental conservation and social harmony. Through 'Sarve Bhavantu Sukhin', the happiness and well-being of everyone has been wished. Along with this, 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' strengthens the feeling of considering the whole world as one family. He called upon the students and the younger generation to try to connect with Indian culture, literature, philosophy and ancient knowledge through Sanskrit Day.
While expressing gratitude for the successful organization of the program, Assistant Professor Chandramohan said that the importance of Sanskrit language as the original texts of Ayurveda and the fundamental medium of Indian knowledge tradition was underlined through the program and its study, protection and promotion was emphasized.
On this occasion, Assistant Professor Dr. Manish Pamnani, Assistant Professor Dr. Akanksha Rana, Assistant Professor Dr. Anurag Kushal, Assistant Professor Dr. Dhaval Ji Makwana, Assistant Professor Dr. Ankita Negi, Assistant Professor Mahesh M, Medical Officer Shinsha P and BAMS students were present.
