Antiragging awareness week celebrated at Guru Gobind Singh Medical College Faridkot

Faridkot:- At Guru Gobind Singh Medical College, Faridkot anti-ragging awareness week was held under leadership of Principal of college Dr. Seema Bhatti. Dr. Girish Sahni, Registrar, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot participated as chief guest, Dr. Raj Kumar, Head, Pharmacology Department played role as Coordinator of programme. In programme Dr Rohit Chopra, Additional Registrar, Dr Gursharan Singh Dhidhsa and faculty members of college participated.
Theme of this week-long awareness programme was "United Against Ragging • Safe Campus • Respect for All". Its objective was to make students aware about bad effects of ragging and to promote safe, respectful and pleasant environment in college campus.
Programme started with anti-ragging oath taking ceremony for MBBS first professional students. After this short film regarding anti-ragging awareness for MBBS final professional students was shown. Apart from this poster competition and rangoli competition was also held, in which students participated enthusiastically expressing their views against ragging through creative posters. Week concluded with valedictory ceremony and certificate distribution ceremony.
Addressing on this occasion Dr. Girish Sahni, Registrar, BFUHS appreciated this effort made for anti-ragging awareness. He said that there is no place for ragging in field of medical education. He inspired students to strengthen professional behaviour, compassion and feeling of mutual respect.
Dr. Seema Bhatti, Principal, GGS Medical College, Faridkot while reiterating college's zero tolerance policy towards ragging said that providing safe, cooperative and respectful learning environment to every student is prime responsibility of college.
Coordinator of programme Dr. Raj Kumar said that main objective of this week was to create awareness among students regarding ragging and inspire them to jointly make efforts for ragging-free campus. He thanked for active cooperation given by faculty, staff and students to make programme successful.
