New Delhi:- The student protests in Delhi have now received the support of veteran social worker Anna Hazare. On Thursday, Hazare held a silent protest for about two hours in front of the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Ahilyanagar, Maharashtra. During this, he expressed concern over the police action against the students and wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, appealing for his intervention in the matter.
Hazare's silent protest began at 11:00 am and ended at 1:00 pm; he peacefully registered his protest without giving any speech. After the protest ended, he said that it was his duty to convey the grievances of the public and students to the top leadership of the country. After this, he returned to his village Ralegan Siddhi.
In his letter to Prime Minister Modi, Hazare described the police action against the students in Delhi as unfortunate. He wrote that the anger of the youth is not just a law and order issue, but a matter related to their future and their faith in the system. According to him, the government needs to address this issue sensitively.
