
Various activities under the "Every Friday Dengue Te War" campaign by the Health Department
Hoshiarpur - With the advent of summer and rainy season, as per the instructions of Civil Surgeon Dr. Balwinder Kumar, various activities were organized against dengue and malaria under the 'Har Friday Dengue Te Vaar' campaign in the district under the leadership of District Epidemiologist Dr. Jagdeep Singh and people were made aware about mosquito repellent measures.
Hoshiarpur - With the advent of summer and rainy season, as per the instructions of Civil Surgeon Dr. Balwinder Kumar, various activities were organized against dengue and malaria under the 'Har Friday Dengue Te Vaar' campaign in the district under the leadership of District Epidemiologist Dr. Jagdeep Singh and people were made aware about mosquito repellent measures.
Similarly, door-to-door dengue survey was conducted by anti-larva teams in various areas of Hoshiarpur city. Meanwhile, breeding checking, drainage checking was done wherever mosquito larvae were found. And larvicide spray and IEC Sharing information in this regard, Dr. Jagdeep Singh said that as soon as the rainy season starts, the number of vector-borne diseases like dengue, malaria, chikungunya also starts increasing. Therefore, the anti-larva wing of the Health Department and the multi-purpose health workers of the district went door-to-door and disposed of the water accumulated in coolers, pots, items kept on roofs, refrigerator trays, water containers for animals and birds, etc. was destroyed. People have been asked to go to every house and keep it completely dry so that the larvae of mosquitoes spreading these diseases can be eliminated. Dr. Jagdeep said that during this week, harvesting was done in 3175 houses by the teams of urban areas. At the same time, the larvae found in 82 houses were destroyed on the spot. Dr. Jagdeep Singh said that today Zonal Entomologist Sumit Jassal along with multipurpose male health workers and breeding checkers visited various areas including the bus stand of Hoshiarpur city. Larvae were also found there and many water tires were lying in the open, which the concerned people were asked to remove. Health workers made people aware about the prevention of malaria and dengue and asked them to take full care of cleanliness. He appealed to the city residents to give full cooperation to the health department teams conducting the survey and said that dengue disease can be avoided only by following the guidelines issued by the health department.
