Chief Minister deploys Punjab government helicopter for rescue and relief operations, visits flood-affected areas with cabinet colleagues

Gurdaspur, August 27- Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today announced the deployment of a state government helicopter to deliver relief materials to families stranded in the flood-affected areas of the state and to evacuate people safely.

The Chief Minister said, “The people have given us this helicopter by giving a big mandate in our favor and this helicopter will remain deployed to serve the people in this hour of crisis.”
During a whirlwind tour of the flood-affected areas of Gurdaspur district today, the Chief Minister said that some people are stuck in the villages surrounded by water, due to which they need immediate help. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government has put its helicopter at the service of the people to immediately evacuate the people trapped in the affected areas safely. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that from today onwards, he will visit the flood-affected areas by car, while the helicopter will remain available to serve the people.
During this, while interacting with the people, the Chief Minister said that control rooms have been set up in all the districts of the state. He said that the state government is fully committed to compensate for the damage caused by the heavy rains. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that he is constantly monitoring the situation. He said that he is getting minute-by-minute information about the water level and relief work from the administrations of various districts of the state.
The Chief Minister said that the state government considers it its duty to help the people in this hour of crisis and no stone will be left unturned for this noble cause. He said that help is being provided to every person in the remote areas of the affected areas. He said that special emphasis is being given to ensure relief in the worst affected areas so that the people do not face any kind of trouble. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that rescue and relief operations are being given top priority in the affected areas of the state.
The Chief Minister said that all the cabinet ministers, MLAs and officers are reaching their respective areas to help the needy people in this difficult time. He said that adequate arrangements have been made to protect the lives and property of the people from the rising water level. He said that the Deputy Commissioners and SSPs of these districts have been asked to expedite the relief operations so that the people can get help.
Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government is committed to protecting the interests of the people in this situation caused by heavy rains. He said that ministers, MLAs and officials are visiting the flood-affected areas so that people can be shifted to safer places from these areas.
The Chief Minister said that large-scale relief and rescue operations are already underway in the flood-affected areas so that people do not have to face any kind of problem. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government is committed to the welfare of the people in this difficult time.
The Chief Minister said that the Punjab government has already ordered a special girdawari to assess the loss caused to the people due to the floods in the state. He said that the officials have been directed to ensure that the special girdawari is conducted in a fair manner so that the people can be fully compensated for their losses. Bhagwant Singh Mann assured the people that his government will compensate the people.
The Chief Minister said that for complete compensation of the loss, the crops, livestock, houses and other belongings of the people will be covered in a special Girdawari. He said that in the low-lying areas where the water has caused havoc, the damage caused will be ascertained and appropriate compensation will be given to the people. Bhagwant Singh Mann assured the people that his government will compensate every penny of the loss incurred during the floods.
