
Punjab Health Minister assures Trained Nurses Association of India of assistance in setting up institute for nursing refresher courses in Mohali
SAS Nagar, December 6, 2024:- Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh today announced all possible help to the Trained Nurses Association of India (TNAI) in setting up a Refresher Course Institute in Mohali. He was addressing the inaugural session of the two-day National Conference at Mohali Club here.
SAS Nagar, December 6, 2024:- Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh today announced all possible help to the Trained Nurses Association of India (TNAI) in setting up a Refresher Course Institute in Mohali. He was addressing the inaugural session of the two-day National Conference at Mohali Club here.
He said that keeping in mind that the medical field is about continuous learning. That is why nurses also need refresher courses to deal with the challenges related to various diseases and conditions. Be it in critical areas like operation theatre, indoor care, intensive care or dialysis centres or cancer care. Dr. Balbir Singh said that today is the martyrdom day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the eighth guru of the Sikh Panth. And coincidentally, the TNAI conference is being held at a place named after Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, the grandson of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.
He said that the unparalleled sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib was to save humanity from the oppression of the Mughal emperors of that time and that is why Guru Sahib is remembered as the "Chador of India". He said that the nursing profession has a high respect and place in the chain of humanitarian services worldwide and Indian nurses, due to their extreme dedication to their profession, are in the highest demand worldwide.
He said that although doctors inject the patient for treatment, nurses use love and compassion to make them healthy and fit. Terming the nursing profession as the most important part of the medical profession, he said that from birth to death, a nurse performs her duty to ensure the health care of everyone. Even a doctor cannot do anything without the support of nurses.
He said that Punjab will feel proud to get the opportunity to set up a refresher course institute at Mohali as a special initiative of the Trained Nurses Association of India and its Secretary General Mrs. Evelyn P. Kannan. And the state government will extend full support in this noble cause.
Referring to the priorities of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to improve health services in the public sector, he said that it is not possible to provide quality health services without the help of “paramedics”, hence the role of nurses at all levels is commendable.
He also congratulated the newly appointed National President of Trained Nurses Association of India, Mrs. Annie Kumar, who is currently working as the National Vice President. Asking the nurses who have arrived here from all over the country to enjoy the opportunity to see the historical and famous places of Chandigarh and Punjab, he said that we are proud to see such a large gathering of nurses on the land of Punjab.
Apart from the National Executive of the Trend Nurses Association of India, Registrar, Punjab Nurses Registration Council, Punjab, Dr. Puneet Girdhar and Acting Civil Surgeon, SAS Nagar, Dr. Renu Singh were also present.
