Patiala, December 14 – Continuing the awareness activities under the Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation Program (SWEEP), Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Electoral Officer Sakshi Sahni directed people to register as voters as well as exercise their right to vote.

Patiala, December 14 – Continuing the awareness activities under the Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation Program (SWEEP), Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Electoral Officer Sakshi Sahni directed people to register as voters as well as exercise their right to vote. An awareness van was dispatched from the district administration complex today to create awareness. Giving information, Sakshi Sahni said that the van has been driven by the Election Commission of India and the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab with the aim of conveying the message of becoming a voter and exercising your right to vote during the elections. This van will cover eight assembly constituencies in the district. He said that apart from showing IEC (publicity) material and awareness films, the van also has an electronic voting machine to educate people about the functioning of EVMs and how to cast their vote through the machine. On this occasion, ADC Anuprita Johal, ADC (Urban Development) Navreet Kaur Sekhon, Sweep Nodal Officer Prof Savinder Singh Rekhi, Election Tehsildar Ramji Lal, Election Kanugo Kuljit Singh, Constituency Supervisor Jatinder Kumar Sweep from Patiala Mohit Kaushal, Barinder Singh, concerned BLOs and The entire staff of the District Election Office was present.
