Gagret/Una, June 7- Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, during his visit to Gagret on Saturday, gave gifts worth crores of rupees to the people of the area and fiercely attacked the former double engine government of BJP. The Chief Minister, while announcing to fulfill all the legitimate demands of Gagret MLA Rakesh Kalia, gave him full affection.
The Chief Minister said that the former double engine government ruined the economic condition of the state. Our government is working day and night to bring the economic condition back on track, but it is becoming difficult to compensate for the freebies of Rs 5000 crore distributed by the BJP six months before the elections to come back to power.
I took a pledge to break the back of the corrupt system as soon as I took the oath of Chief Minister on the formation of the government and have also been successful in that in the last two and a half years. By closing the backdoors of corruption, we have earned additional revenue of more than three thousand crore rupees so far. We are distributing this amount among the people by implementing public welfare schemes.
The Chief Minister praised Kalia and said that his entire focus is on getting the work done in the assembly constituency. He does not crave for any post. Kalia and I are four-time MLAs, I became the Chief Minister and Mukesh Agnihotri is the Deputy Chief Minister.
We three became MLAs together for the first time. In the last assembly elections, Rakesh Kalia's ticket was cut under a political conspiracy, but Maa Chintpurni had full blessings on him. The person who was elected by the people of Gagret in the last election was sold in the political market. Due to which a by-election was held here and Rakesh Kalia became MLA with the blessings of Maa Chintpurni and the people.
The Chief Minister said that Kalia is working seriously for the development of the area. During the by-election, I had appealed to the people of Gagret to make Rakesh Kalia the MLA, no shortage will be left in the development of the area. With the blessings of Maa Chintpurni, Rakesh Kalia ji has been re-elected MLA on a Congress ticket.
He said that the previous BJP government distributed free electricity and water even to those who paid taxes worth crores of rupees, which caused loss to the government treasury. We have kept 125 units of electricity free for the poor even up to three meters. BJP is currently divided into 5 factions in the state. Its leaders are in a situation of 'everyone has their own tune'.
