Patiala- On 17 July 2025, on the call of the Punjab Pay Scale Restoration Joint Front, with the support of all the employee organizations across Punjab, on 17 July, as a black day, all the districts and blocks, offices, schools, duty places across Punjab were celebrated by wearing black badges, black ribbons and copies of incomplete pay scales were also burned.
On observing the day as a black day, the front leaders said that this deadly notification was implemented by the previous government on July 17, 2020 and the Aam Aadmi Party government, which was playing the role of the opposition at that time, had opposed this deadly notification and upon coming to power, the first thing that was guaranteed was to restore the Punjab pay scale and reduce the probation period, which was not fulfilled even after 3 years. Apart from this, the state committee also demanded that the decisions of the government, the High Court and the Supreme Court in favor of the employees in various departments so far be applied to all (generalise).
Regarding today's program, the leaders said that this is the biggest and most successful program of employees while doing their duty so far, which is against the government, from which the government should understand that if all the employees of various departments and if the Punjab pay scale are not restored, then how big a loss it will be for the Aam Aadmi Party in the upcoming 2027 assembly elections, no one knows better than them what employee unity is.
The leaders have forced the government to work on such low salaries, due to which it has become difficult to fulfill mental stress and other family needs. Where is the justice in doing duties 150 to 250 kilometers away from home and getting 15000 to 20000 less salary every month.
The leaders clarified that after this action, a state-level rally will also be held in August in which thousands of employees will participate. At that time, Aarti Bali, Hanif Khan, Karamdeep Singh Chahal, Charanjit Kaur Khaira, Kirandeep Kaur and Sunil Kumawati, Vijay Nibhiwal, Vijay Singh, Navneet Kaur, Sandeep Kaur Sidhu, Sukhwinder Kaur, Rohit etc. were all present.
