
GST collects record Rs 22.08 lakh crore in 2024-25.
New Delhi, June 30 - India's Goods and Services Tax (GST) system has collected a record Rs 22.08 lakh crore in 2024-25, which is 9.4 percent more than the previous year. According to a release issued by the Finance Ministry, the average monthly GST collection was Rs 1.84 lakh crore, which is the highest since the launch of GST in 2017.

GST has grown steadily in recent years, increasing from Rs 11.37 lakh crore in 2020-21 to Rs 20.18 lakh crore in 2023-24, indicating strong economic activity. It is worth noting that more than 1.51 crore have been registered under GST as on April 30, 2025, indicating increasing participation in the tax system.
