Nawanshahr- Punjab government is getting 25 Anganwadi centers constructed in the district, out of which the construction work of 9 centers has been completed and the remaining centers will also become functional soon.
On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Ankurjit Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Avneet Kaur inspected the construction work of Anganwadi Center in Gram Panchayat Rakkad Bet under Block Balachaur and directed the concerned officials to complete the construction within the stipulated time.
He said that the cost of 25 centers being built in the district will be around Rs 2.50 crore, out of which Rs 2 lakh per center is being spent under the ICDS scheme. He said that the 9 centers which have been completed will soon be dedicated to the people of the district.
Additional Deputy Commissioner said that with the construction of these centers, people will get a lot of benefit from the facility of Anganwadi in many villages at 25 places. He informed that Punjab Government would provide various facilities in these centres so that maternal and child welfare initiatives could reach each beneficiary.
It is notable that in order to provide safe and comfortable environment to the children, state-of-the-art facilities would be provided in these centres in the form of comfortable furniture, clean toilets, toys etc.
