Arafat (Saudi Arabia), June 5 - More than 1.5 million pilgrims from around the world have arrived in Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj this year. A government spokesman gave this information on Wednesday. Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam. It is considered essential for a financially and physically able Muslim to perform Hajj at least once in his life.
Ghassan Al-Nuaimi, spokesman for the Hajj Ministry, has given the estimated number of foreign Hajj pilgrims. Last year, more than 1.6 million Muslims from around the world performed Hajj. Some people were traveling on foot, while others were carrying elderly people with them.
