Two persons involved in smuggling of lethal weapons from Pakistan arrested.

Tarn Taran, June 5 – Last evening, the Valtoha police arrested two persons involved in smuggling of weapons from Pakistan from a checkpoint set up near village Mehmoodpur in the border area along with illegal weapons, while one of their accomplices is still out of custody. Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav has also shared information about the arrest of the smugglers in a post on VX.

SSP Abhimanyu Rana said here today that the arrested accused have been identified as Surajpal Singh Suraj and Arshdeep Singh Arsh, residents of Lakhna, while Paraspreet Singh Paras, resident of Rajoke, is absconding. The SSP said that four Glock pistols and six rounds have been recovered from the arrested accused. The accused order weapons from Pakistan through drones and then supply them to different places in the state.
The accused were arrested along with arms from a checkpoint set up under the leadership of ASI Manjinder Singh near village Mehmoodpur in the border area. In this regard, Valtoha police has registered a case under Sections 25 (6), 25 (7), (1), 54, 59 of the Arms Act and started investigation.
