On this occasion, the MLA of the constituency Sukhbir Singh Maisarkhana arrived in high spirits. S: Sukhraj Singh Dhillon, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Maur attended as the chief guest and hoisted the tricolor flag.
People from different villages and school students reached in large numbers to increase the joy of Independence Day. School children presented a colorful program of Giddha and Bhangra along with patriotic music.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sukhraj Singh Dhillon, MLA Sukhvir Singh Maisarkhana and Police DSP Kuldeep Singh Brar, Police Station Maur took salute from the police contingent. The guests who arrived on this occasion remembered those who sacrificed their lives in the freedom struggle and motivated them to follow the path shown by them. 
On this occasion, sewing machines and tricycles were distributed to the needy. Ranjit Singh Matharu, senior leader of Aam Aadmi Party and state vice president of former employees' wing Punjab, Karnail Singh, President of Municipal Council Maur, Balwinder Singh Ballo, Chairman of Market Committee Maur and other administrative officers also specially attended this event.
