Dr. Alkajot Kaur, Senior Medical Officer of the hospital, said that during this training, which started under the guidelines of the government, health workers were specially taught about mental health and care of the elderly.
She said that in the present times, mental illnesses are emerging as a major health problem, which is also becoming a big challenge for health professionals and health workers.
It is very important for Asha workers working at the grassroots level to have comprehensive information about the symptoms, causes, prevention and treatment of mental illnesses. Similarly, the number of elderly people is also increasing, who are suffering from some disease or the other and are entitled to proper and appropriate care and treatment.
He said that apart from these topics, other important topics were also discussed during the training, about which it is very important for health workers to have knowledge. Trainers Baljinder Saini and Karamjit Kaur were present on this occasion.
