Patiala May 17- Our Lady of Fatima Convent School, Patiala, playing an important role in the field of local education and promoting humanity and public welfare, organised its 15th massive blood donation camp. The blood donation camp was inaugurated by the school principal Sister Immaculate by lighting a lamp. Addressing a large gathering of students, Sister Immaculate said that we can save a person's life by donating our blood. Every person should keep donating blood at an interval of 3 or 4 months.
Patiala city's social worker and senior journalist Rajesh Panjola said that the blood donated by the parents of the children in the blood donation camp will help in saving the life of a needy person. Donating blood brings happiness to the soul. Principal Sister Immaculate informed that this 15th blood donation camp was organized to overcome the shortage of blood in the blood bank of Government Rajindra Hospital, Patiala so that the lives of children suffering from thalassemia and needy people could be saved.
In this camp, Dr. Vinay of Immunohematology and Transfusion Department of Government Medical College, Patiala and Mr. Sukhwinder Singh, Camp Coordinator of Government Medical College, Patiala welcomed the participants by presenting a green plant symbolizing hope and happiness. 73 units of blood were collected with the help of paramedical staff. Among others, Vice Principal Ann Mariane of Our Lady of Fatima Convent School was also present on this occasion.
At the end of the blood donation camp, the blood donors were honored by giving memento certificates on behalf of the school. The blood donors were thanked for donating blood by giving them bananas and milk. In the end, Principal Sister Immaculate thanked the team of Rajindra Hospital on behalf of the school teachers and staff for the success of the blood donation camp.
