Tripathi had reached Nangal Dam unexpectedly today so that the decision to release excess water from the dam to Haryana could be implemented. Today, as soon as the people of the surrounding area got the news of the chairman's arrival, they gathered. Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains and MLA Dr. Charanjit Singh led the people to stage a protest near the dam.
Chairman Manoj Tripathi was staying at the guest house Sutlej Sadan and when he started returning to his vehicle, the people surrounded the vehicle.
