Local Bodies Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh reviewed the development works in Kandi area.

During the meeting at the local District Administrative Complex, Local Bodies Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh while listening to the public problems related to the Revenue Department, Forest, Health, Education, Social Security, Punjab Roadways, Public Works, Panchayat, Animal Husbandry and Transport departments directed the officials to resolve these problems in a time bound manner and take necessary action.
Dr. Ravjot Singh directed the District Education Officer to complete the necessary process in the shortest possible time regarding the schools to be upgraded in various villages and take further action.
Local Bodies Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh, while taking information about the supply of drinking water in many villages of Kandi area, directed the officials of Water Supply Department to ensure uninterrupted supply of water and to carry out necessary repairs of pipes/motors etc. wherever required.
While taking stock of the retaining wall from the officials of Public Works Department, Dr. Ravjot Singh said that for safety, the process of construction of these walls around the roads should be started before the rainy season. While giving instructions to the officials of Rural Development and Panchayat and Forest Department, Dr. Ravjot Singh said that action should be taken as per the prescribed policy for felling of trees from Panchayat lands.
He said that planting of required number of saplings as per rules at new places should also be ensured at all costs. For the convenience of the students of schools/colleges of Dholwaha, Janouri and adjoining villages, Dr. Ravjot Singh directed the employees of Punjab Roadways and Transport Department to deploy the concerned staff to stop the buses at the bus stands in these areas.
He also directed the officials to start new timings of roadways buses and stop private buses for the convenience of students. While reviewing the Amrit Sarovar projects being built in the villages, the Local Bodies Minister said that this work should be expedited so that the residents of the villages can get the benefit of this scheme.
He asked the Revenue Department officials to further speed up the process of completing the pending mutation of panchayat lands and install government fee boards at prominent places in the tehsils so that people can get complete information. The Local Bodies Minister urged the officials to further speed up the pace of work related to various departments keeping in mind the convenience of the people, so that these projects can be completed on time.
During the meeting, MLA from Tanda Jasvir Singh Raja Gill, Additional Deputy Commissioner Nikas Kumar, District Planning Committee Chairperson Karamjit Kaur, Chairman of Nagar Sudhar Trust Gurwinder Singh Pabla, Sarpanches of various villages and officials of the concerned departments were present.
