Addressing his monthly radio programme 'Mann Ki Baat', Modi said that the unity of Indians in the fight against terrorism is the country's greatest strength.
The Prime Minister said that his heart is filled with pain and every Indian is angry over this terrorist attack. In this terror attack on Tuesday, 26 civilians were killed, most of whom were tourists.
Modi said that this incident shows the desperation and cowardice of the terrorists and their patrons, and has come at a time when peace was returning to Kashmir, tourism was recording a record increase, democracy was strengthening and new opportunities were being created for the youth.
He said that the enemies of the country and Kashmir did not like this, they want the Valley to be destroyed again. He said, “The unity of the country, the unity of 140 crore Indians, is our biggest strength in the war against terrorism.” He said that the world is seeing that India is speaking with one voice against the attack.
He stressed that this unity is the biggest basis for a decisive fight against terrorism. He said that no matter which state a person lives in and which language he speaks, everyone has deep sympathy for the families of the victims.
During the monthly radio programme, the Prime Minister also paid tribute to scientist and former ISRO chief K Kasturirangan, who passed away on Friday. He said that his selfless service to the country and contribution to nation building will always be remembered.
