BJP councillors should resign from their party and not from corporation posts - Congress

Chandigarh Congress has termed the rumours of resignation of BJP councillors as an attempt by their local leaders to divert attention from the anti-Chandigarh attitude of the BJP national leadership.

Chandigarh Congress has termed the rumours of resignation of BJP councillors as an attempt by their local leaders to divert attention from the anti-Chandigarh attitude of the BJP national leadership.
Taking a dig at the statements of BJP councillors, including Mayor Harpreet Kaur, criticising the administration, Chandigarh Congress Chief Spokesperson Rajiv Sharma said that the Chandigarh Administration cannot work outside the policies and directives of the BJP-led Home Ministry. He said that it is true that the administration is constantly refusing to give adequate funds to the Municipal Corporation, thereby hampering the development of the city, but the BJP councillors should understand that the administration works directly under the control of the Home Ministry.
The Congress spokesperson said that the resignation of BJP councillors from the Municipal Corporation post will not benefit the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation, for this they should resign from their party, because the BJP-led Home Ministry and the central leadership of the BJP are at the root of all the problems of the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation.
