Karimnagar (Telangana), June 15 - Five teenage boys drowned while taking a bath in the Godavari river on Sunday before going to a temple in Basar, police said. According to Bhainsa ASP Avinash Kumar, a group of about 20 people from Hyderabad had gone to Basar to pay obeisance at the famous Gyan Saraswati temple.
He said that before going to the temple, five boys of the group went down to the river to take a bath. The water level in the river suddenly increased, due to which all the five boys were swept away by the strong current of the river. Kumar said that rescue teams have recovered the bodies and have sent them for postmortem. He said that a case has been registered in connection with the incident.
