Amritsar- Damdami Taksal has opposed the decision of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee's Interim Committee meeting to forcibly retire the Jathedars of the Takhts and appoint new Jathedars, terming it a violation of etiquette. Taksal head Baba Harnam Singh Khalsa said that Sikh principles and Takht Sahabans have been insulted in this matter.
He said that in view of the disrespect for Panthic etiquette, a Panthic gathering of the Sikh Sangat is being organized on March 14 at Gurdwara Gurdarshan Parkash (Shri Anandpur Sahib), the venue of Damdami Taksal, in front of Panj Piara Park.
He has appealed to all Sant Samaj, Nihang Singh organizations, Sikh institutions and the entire Panth to join this gathering. In this regard, in a video message, Baba Harnam Singh Khalsa Bhindranwale, head of Damdami Taksal and president of Sant Samaj, said that in this meeting, decisions have been taken to remove the Jathedars of the Takhts arbitrarily and without Panthic sentiments. He said without naming anyone that Panthic principles have been undermined due to the selfishness and ego of some individuals. It is worth mentioning that apart from Damdami Taksal, other Sikh organizations are also strongly criticizing the Shiromani Committee in this matter. In many places, Sikh organizations are also opposing this decision of the Shiromani Committee. Yesterday, the Head Granthi of Sri Harmandir Sahib, Giani Raghbir Singh, also alleged that etiquette was violated during the service of the Jathedar of Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib.
