Government is politicizing SMC committees of schools - GTU.

Mohali- The education department of the present AAP government is hell bent on ruining education in Punjab with its new experiences, which has not only increased political interference in schools, but has also deeply affected the environment of schools and the teaching-learning process. Another such case has come to light. The school management committee in schools which should be included in the management committees of schools was given a deadline till May 31 due to laying the foundation stone.
Now that this deadline has passed, the state government has politically entered its workers in the formation of new committees, in which an unofficial list has been put up by the District Education Officer Sassi in the WhatsApp group of principals and headmasters, in which the names of social workers have been written and they have been asked to take members, which is not logical in any way.
Giving information through a press statement, District President of Government Teachers Union Unit Mohali Ravinder Singh Pappi Sidhu and District General Secretary Manpreet Singh Goslan said that the government is sending the list of social education worker members and is forcibly pressuring to include only the social workers listed in this list in the SMC committee, which is sheer bullying. He said that where were these workers during the last three years, who are now gearing up for education reform.
There are some gentlemen from cities and villages, who keep giving something or the other in the form of donations for schools and children. Those social workers should be made members. These workers were not even seen in the inauguration ceremonies being organized by the government, when teachers were bringing food items and getting tents installed by putting money from their own pockets.
Suddenly the government and these workers have woken up to the mismanagement of schools. Although a representative of the government or local government is a member in the SMC committee, then what is the need for this special entry? This is pure politics and GTU strongly opposes it. They demanded that this letter and Nadirshahi decree be withdrawn immediately.
On this occasion, teacher leaders like Guljit Singh, Varinder Kumar, Ravi Kumar, Darshan Singh, Harmanjit Singh Babbu, Sohan Singh, Kulwinder Singh, Charanjit Singh, Satwinder Kaur, Veena Rani, Satinderpal Kaur, Sarabjit Kaur, Baljit Singh, Rajesh Kumar, Sukhjinder Singh, Baljit Singh Chumber, Gurpreetpal Singh, Shamsher Singh, Gurbir Singh, Jagdeep Singh, Sandeep Singh, Manoj Kumar were present.
