Punjab Government has rejuvenated government schools - MLA Brahm Shankar Jimpa

24 February Hoshiarpur- MLA Brahm Shankar Jimpa said on the occasion of the annual function of Government Senior Secondary School Shergarh that the Punjab Government has made continuous efforts to rejuvenate the schools of the state and has strengthened the infrastructure of government schools on a large scale.

Addressing during the annual function, MLA Brahm Shankar Jimpa said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the state government has done unprecedented work in the field of education and health and has provided necessary facilities to the students and the people. He said that under the School of Eminence Scheme of Punjab Government, 5 schools are running in the district, which include Government Senior Secondary Schools Garhshankar, Purhiran, Baghpur, Dasuha and Tanda.
He said that Business Blaster Project is being run for the students of class XI and XII in 130 senior secondary schools of the district, under which seed money grant of Rs 1.5 lakh is being given to the students of class XII. During the year 2024-25, Rs 76.68 lakh has been released to 3834 students.
Talking about the efforts being made by the Punjab Government for the development of the appearance and infrastructure of the schools, MLA Jimpa said that during the year 2023-24, 116 watchmen, 130 campus managers, 63 security guards etc. have been deployed in government schools so that various arrangements can be made smoothly in the schools.
He said that a grant of Rs 12.52 crore has been released to the primary and upper primary schools for new boundary walls, which will make the appearance of these schools more beautiful. He urged the students to focus on their studies with full hard work and dedication and said that by getting good education they can ensure their better future.
MLA Jimpa praised District Education Officer Lalita Arora and School Principal Rajan Arora for the excellent performance of the school. The annual prize distribution ceremony started with the recitation of Sri Sukhmani Sahib and Shabad Kirtan. After this, the school principal read the annual report and informed about the excellent results of the school. Students gave cultural presentations.
Students who secured first, second and third positions in various classes last year and other achievements were also felicitated. On this occasion, councillor Pradeep Bittu, Shergarh Sarpanch Mohan Lal, principal Dharmendra Sharma and the entire staff of the school were present.
