
SMO distributed food items to 15 TB patients
Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar/Boothgarh, 7th February: Primary Health Center Boothgarh helped tuberculosis patients by giving 15 packets of food items to 15 patients. Senior Medical Officer Dr. Alkjot Kaur said that this effort to help TB patients has been made under the leadership of Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain. She said that packets have been given to 15 patients of Boothgarh area, which contain daily use items for at least 6 months. She said that she took financial donations from her relatives for the purchase of the packets.

SMO He said that under the ‘Nikshe Mitra’ program launched by the Government of India, any private individual, elected representative, employee of a government or non-government organization, any organization, corporation or company can adopt any TB patient, under which they will provide food items like pulses, grains, oil, milk etc. to the patients at their own expense for 6 months. He said that apart from providing nutritious food to the patient, he or his family members can also be helped in vocational training, getting a job and treatment management.
He said that whoever adopts TB patients will have to adopt the patients for at least one year and will have to provide them with the suggested food items for 6 months. Such donor individuals or organizations will be named ‘Nikshe Mitra’. An individual or organization can adopt one or more TB patients as desired.
