
Punjabi Varsity shooters win a total of six medals in the World Championship
Patiala, November 13 - With the three latest medals won by Punjabi University shooters Arshdeep Kaur and Jangsher Singh in the '2024 World University Championship' held in New Delhi, the total number of medals won in this championship has reached six. Yesterday, shooter Arshdeep Kaur won the gold medal as a team in the 25 meter pistol event and Abhay Singh Sekhon won the bronze medal as an individual achievement.

Yesterday, shooter Arshdeep Kaur won the gold medal as a team in the 25 meter pistol event and Abhay Singh Sekhon won the bronze medal as an individual achievement.
It is worth mentioning that this is the third medal for Arshdeep Kaur in this championship. Earlier, she has won the gold medal while playing in the team and the bronze medal at the individual level. Similarly, Punjabi University shooter Jangsher Singh Virk has won the silver medal in the mixed team event. Parikshit Singh Brar had won the gold medal in the same championship.
On behalf of the university authority, Dean Academic Affairs Prof. Narinder Kaur Multani, Registrar Prof. Sanjeev Puri and Director of Sports Department Prof. Ajita congratulated all the players and their coaches Ms. Swaranjit Kaur and Surinder Kaur along with the Sports Department. Prof. Narinder Kaur Multani said that winning consecutive medals shows the constructive atmosphere of the Sports Department of the university.
She said that our players and coaches are extremely talented and capable. She expressed hope that this series of medals will continue in the future as well.
