Fatehabad, July 24: Speaking to members of the Fatehabad Press Club today, Superintendent of Police (SP) Nikita Khattar revealed that 45 women have been arrested for drug trafficking in the district over the past six months. She remarked that the involvement of women in drug trafficking is a matter of concern for both society and the police. Members of the Press Club extended their best wishes to the police chief on her birthday by presenting her with a bouquet.
SP Nikita Khattar stated that the police, in collaboration with the Drugs Department, would now inspect the licenses of medical stores in villages to ensure no chemist is selling medicines without a valid license. The SP noted that synthetic drugs are entering Haryana from Delhi and Punjab, and the police are keeping a close watch on these traffickers.
The SP mentioned that a fast-track court for NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) cases has now been established in the district, raising hopes for quicker verdicts on drug trafficking cases. Regarding student protests, the SP stated that there have been no reports of any violent agitation in the district so far. On the subject of traffic management, she said the police have acquired their own crane to tow away illegally parked vehicles to the police station, thereby improving traffic flow.
