Moga:- A Congress party supporter was shot dead indiscriminately in Bhinder Kalan village under Dharamkot sub-division this morning. The deceased has been identified as Umarsir Singh (35). According to the information, the deceased had left his house in his Swift car in the morning for his work in Moga.
According to the information received, at around 7 am today, when the young man Umarsir Singh left his house in his car to go to his duty, a black car with five assailants indiscriminately fired at his car and fled. The deceased was a resident of Bhinder Khurd village and was an employee of Nestle India Moga.
This murder is being seen as being linked to the recently held Zila Parishad and Block Samiti elections. However, no police officer is ready to say anything yet.
As soon as the information about the incident was received, former MLA of the constituency Kaka Sukhjit Singh Lohgarh and Youth Congress District President Sohan Singh Khela reached the spot with a large number of their associates. Sohan Singh Khela said that the deceased's sister-in-law Veerpal Kaur, who was a relative of the deceased, had won the Block Samiti elections. In protest against this murder, Congress leaders have started a protest in front of Dharamkot police station. The police is investigating the matter.
