Haroli/Una, July 25 (Rajveer Chopra): An awareness workshop on 'Mental Wellness' was organized at Government College, Haroli, focusing on the mental health and overall well-being of the students. The workshop was presided over by the college Principal. The keynote speaker, Amba Pal, provided the students with detailed information regarding the primary causes of mental stress and effective ways to overcome them.
In her address, keynote speaker Amba Pal highlighted that excessive academic pressure, family and social expectations, anxiety about the future, poor time management, excessive social media use, and negative thinking are the main causes of mental stress. She stated that if stress is identified early and addressed appropriately, mental health can be effectively maintained.
She advised students to practice regular yoga and meditation, maintain a balanced diet and get adequate sleep, cultivate positive thinking, manage time effectively, participate in physical activities, and share their problems with family, friends, or experts. She emphasized that caring for mental health is just as essential as caring for physical health.
Faculty members and 250 students participated enthusiastically in the workshop, asking various questions related to mental health and gaining clarity on their queries. The objective of the program was to raise awareness about mental health among students and inspire them to adopt a stress-free and positive lifestyle.
College Principal Dr. Rajendra Kumar also encouraged the students to remain mentally healthy and resilient in every situation. Captain Sonika Saini extended a vote of thanks to Ms. Amba Pal and the Principal.
