Bathinda: For nearly 50 years, the women's Sankirtan group of the NFL Shri Gobind Mandir has been upholding the religious tradition of organizing Sankirtan, Sundarkand, and Durga Saptashati recitations at the temple and in the homes of devotees within the NFL township and surrounding areas.
In keeping with this tradition, the group organized special recitations of the Durga Saptashati at Shri Gobind Mandir during the Navratras of the Sawan month. Following the recitation, a *langar* (community meal) was arranged at the temple for devotees and approximately 200 children from the Government Elementary School, NFL Township.
NFL Chief General Manager Mr. T.K. Batra and his wife, Mrs. Sandhya Batra, specially participated in the *langar* service. Temple Committee President Mr. Pushp Kumar and his wife, Mrs. Indu Bala, were also present on the occasion.
Key members of the women's Sankirtan group—including Manju Sharma, Kumud Kaushik, and Shakuntala—along with other volunteers, played a significant role in making the event a success.
In addition to Temple Committee Vice-President Mr. Kamal Arora, others who contributed to the event and the *langar* service included Murali Manohar Sharma, N.P. Singh, and Madan Lal.
For the past five decades, the women's Sankirtan group has been consistently carrying forward both religious events and acts of service. The group's spirit of service conveys a message of religious faith, social unity, and mutual brotherhood across the NFL township and the surrounding regions.
