Hansi: The villagers of Chanut met Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rahul Narwal regarding various public grievances and submitted their complaints and demands. The Deputy Commissioner listened to every complaint of the villagers seriously and issued necessary directions to the concerned departmental officials. In several cases, he spoke to higher officials over the phone on the spot and instructed them to take necessary steps to resolve the problems.
Addressing the villagers, Deputy Commissioner Rahul Narwal said that the district administration is fully committed to resolving the problems of the common man and that the disposal of every complaint will be ensured in a time-bound manner as per the rules. He stated that providing basic amenities to citizens is a priority for the administration.
During this, Balwan Singh, a resident of Chanut village, presented his issue, stating that his house is situated in a relatively higher part of the village. Due to the water supply line laid years ago, sufficient water is no longer reaching his home, causing him trouble with regular supply. He demanded a new pipeline be laid in place of the old one to ensure a regular water supply. On this, the DC directed the officials of the Public Health Engineering Department to immediately inspect the site and take necessary action.
In his complaint, Sunny, a resident of the village, stated that a person from Jind district had cheated him of 30,000 rupees on the pretext of getting him a job at a private hospital in Hisar. Taking the matter seriously, the DC asked the complainant to provide the full name and address of the person involved and assured him that if the allegations are found to be true during the investigation, strict action will be taken against the individual as per the rules.
During the meeting, the villagers also demanded compensation for houses damaged due to the rains. On this, the DC stated that the list of damaged houses should be provided to the administration immediately. He instructed the Block Development and Panchayat Officer to get the affected houses surveyed quickly, submit a report, and expedite the process of providing aid to eligible families.
Deputy Commissioner Rahul Narwal said that the administration is working with sensitivity to resolve public grievances and no complaint will be ignored. He directed officials to ensure action on received complaints on a priority basis.
The villagers also placed a demand for the release of the second installment for house construction under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. On this, the DC said that he would speak with senior officials regarding this matter and efforts would be made to ensure that the funds are released as soon as possible.
On this occasion, District Grievance Committee member Vinod Kumar, Ravi, Kulwant Chowkidar, Jeevan Das, Sunny, Poonam, Bala, Mintu, Kavita, and other villagers were present.
