Moga:- In village Machhike under Nihal Singh Wala police station, an American citizen of Indian origin shot and killed his nephew in the fields on Saturday morning due to a land dispute.
DSP Nihal Singh Wala Anwar Ali and Nihal Singh Wala police station chief Puran Singh Dhaliwal said that the deceased has been identified as Navdeep Singh of village Machhike and the accused has been identified as Bahadur Singh Sekhon. Both the accused and the deceased were uncles and nephews.
The accused is a citizen of America. It is also being discussed that the accused, after shooting his nephew in the forehead and killing him, ran his car over the body of the deceased. Navdeep Singh used to work as an agent. According to the police, Bahadur Singh Sekhon had a fight with his nephew Navdeep Singh in the field and he opened fire on his nephew with a revolver on the spot. When Bahadur returned home after this incident, people surrounded him and informed the police. The police who arrived at the spot took Bahadur into custody. Post in-charge Bilaspur Jaswant Singh Sara said that an investigation has been started into the incident. Navdeep Singh's father was a former sarpanch of the village.
