Una, November 21:- Taking another strong step to strengthen law and order, the Una District Administration has imposed a complete ban on night mining activities in the district. Violators will face immediate FIRs.
Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal stated in a press conference on Friday that all mining activities will now be completely banned in the district from 5:00 PM to 6:00 AM. During this period, there will also be a strict ban on the transportation of mining vehicles and materials.
Legal mining lease holders will be permitted to mine from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM, but transportation of mining materials will only be permitted from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Violators will face immediate punitive action.
Una Superintendent of Police Amit Yadav and the District Mining Officer were also present at the press conference.

**Special Corridors Identified for Transportation of Legal Mining Material**
The Deputy Commissioner stated that special corridors have been identified for transportation of materials within the stipulated time period. All leaseholders must adhere to the prescribed time and route. Checkpoints have been set up for monitoring along these routes.
These include: Una to Nangal via Mehatpur, Tahliwal to Garhshankar (Bhangla Road via Bathri), Dulahad to Garhshankar via Gondpur Jaichand, Janani to Mahalpur via Janani Khad, Ghaluwal to Hoshiarpur via Pandoga, Gagret to Hoshiarpur via Asha Devi Barrier, Virbhadra Chowk to Nangal via Sajowal Barrier, Ajouli towards Punjab, and Daulatpur to Talwara via Marbari.
He stated that transporting mining material using any route other than these will result in strict punitive action.
The Deputy Commissioner stated that despite heavy fines, machinery seizures, and license suspensions, complaints of illegal mining continue to be received. Consequently, it has become necessary to take even stricter measures.
He stated that the district administration is fully committed to maintaining law and order and will not tolerate any illegal activity.
He stated that anti-social elements who violate the law will not be spared under any circumstances. Strict vigilance will be maintained on rioters and miscreants from border areas, and any violation will result in immediate and strict action.

Timings for liquor shops and bars fixed**
The Deputy Commissioner stated that the operating hours of liquor shops and bars in the district have also been strictly established. All liquor shops will be permitted to sell liquor only until 10 p.m., after which they must be completely closed.
It is also mandatory for all bars to be completely closed by 10 p.m. Instructions have been issued to close unregistered enclosures with immediate effect and to prohibit their operations until all registration formalities are completed.

**Weapon Licenses to be Reviewed**
Jatin Lal stated that a comprehensive review of all weapon licenses in the district will be conducted. Joint teams of the SDM, DSP, Tehsildar, and Range Officer will prepare area-wise reports. Weapon licenses found in land disputes or complaints will be immediately suspended and the weapons involved will be confiscated.
He also clarified that displaying weapons on social media or brandishing weapons in public places is a punishable offense, and immediate action will be taken in such cases.

**Quick Response Team Formed, Patrolling Increased in Sensitive Areas**
On this occasion, Superintendent of Police Amit Yadav stated that a Quick Response Team has been formed to strengthen the surveillance system in the district. This team, consisting of 7-8 police personnel, will patrol all sensitive areas, including highways, day and night and ensure prompt action in case of any illegal activity or disturbance.
