Kharar:- HS Mattewal Memorial National Moot Court Competition 2026 was successfully organized by the School of Law, Rayat Bahra University, in which 20 teams representing leading legal institutions from across the country participated. The event provided a vibrant national platform to budding legal professionals to hone their advocacy, research and courtroom skills. The two-day competition had rigorous preliminary, quarter-final, semi-final and final rounds, where participants demonstrated exceptional legal acumen, analytical ability and oratory skills.
The team from OP Jindal Global University emerged victorious in the competition, receiving a cash prize of Rs. 21,000 and a certificate. The second place went to Panjab University Regional Centre, Ludhiana, which received Rs. 11,000 and a certificate. The final round was judged by an eminent panel comprising Justice Rajiv Sharma, former Acting Chief Justice of Uttarakhand High Court, Justice HS Sidhu, former Judge, Dr Trisha Sharma (PU), Dr Deepak Jindal and Advocate Singh Joginder Singh Mann. Their expert observations and constructive feedback enriched the learning experience of the participants. Justice Alok Jain graced the concluding session as the chief guest. He appreciated the high standard of the competition and appealed to the students to uphold the values ??of justice and integrity. Gurvinder Singh Bahra appreciated the initiative and said that such platforms are essential to prepare competent and confident legal professionals. Prof (Dr) Sanjay Kumar said on the occasion that moot court exercises play a vital role in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. Advocate Pavit Singh Mattewal also chaired the session, appreciated the organizers and encouraged the students to maintain professionalism and integrity in the legal field.
The Dean of the school, Dr. Akhilesh Ranaut, thanked all the dignitaries, participants and organizers for contributing to the success of the event, which ended on an inspiring note.
