Haroli/Una, May 19 (Rajveer Chopra): A young man lost his life in a tragic road accident that occurred late Monday night in the Gondpur Jaichand area. The deceased has been identified as 34-year-old Raj Kumar, son of Satpal, a resident of Mehandwani, Tehsil Garhshankar, District Hoshiarpur (Punjab).
According to reports, a violent collision took place between a car bearing a UP registration number and a motorcycle on Monday night. The impact was so severe that both the car and the bike were completely wrecked. The motorcyclist, Raj Kumar, sustained critical injuries in the accident. Demonstrating a spirit of humanity, local residents immediately rushed the injured youth to Dulehar Hospital; however, the doctors present there declared him dead upon arrival.
It is reported that Raj Kumar worked at a cable manufacturing unit and was returning home after finishing his shift when the accident occurred near Gondpur Jaichand. Following the crash, the driver of the UP-registered car fled the scene. Upon receiving information about the incident, the police arrived at the spot and initiated an investigation into the matter. The police have launched a search operation to apprehend the absconding driver.
A wave of grief has swept through the locality following this tragic accident, while the family of the deceased is inconsolable in their sorrow.
