Trade unions and farmers organizations held a meeting to celebrate the first of April the day of struggle

Nawanshahr, March 29:- A meeting of trade unions, farmers' organizations, farm labor organizations, employees and pensioners' unions was held today at the local Shaheed Malkit Chand Mehli Bhawan to celebrate the first of April, the day of struggle, in Nawanshahr. Addressing this meeting, IFTU state president Kulwinder Singh Waraich, CITU state secretary Mahan Singh Raudi, Pensioners' Union leader Kulwinder Singh Atwal, Kul Hind Khet Mazdoor Sabha leader Niranjan Das Mehli, Kirti Kisan Union district president Surinder Singh Bains, and Jamhoori Kisan Sabha leader Kuldeep Singh Durka said that full preparation should be made to make the nationwide call a success.
He said that the Modi government of the center is going to implement 4 labor codes from April 1st by abolishing 29 pro-labor laws to snatch away the basic rights of workers like forming unions and struggling to please corporate houses and domestic and foreign capitalists.
He said that with the implementation of this code, the democratic right of workers to form unions and struggle to secure and achieve their rights will be lost. Instead of increasing the remuneration of work, the working hours will be 8 to 12 hours a day. The leaders opposed the privatization of public institutions and demanded its closure.
He said that a district-level rally will be held at the bus stop Nawanshahr on April 1st at 11 am. In the meeting, they condemned the attacks being carried out by America and Israel on Iran and demanded an end to these attacks. On this occasion, Tarsem Singh Bains, Vijay Kumar, Narinder Mehta, Kuldeep Singh Sujon, Gurdial Rakkar, Ram Asra, Kiranjit Kaur leaders were also present.
