Hansi:- Modi government is working with the intention of keeping backward class women away from politics. The manner in which the Parliament session has been hastily extended for three days shows a flaw in the government's intentions.
Making allegations in the statement issued to the press, Yogendra Yogi National Coordinator Congress OBC Department in-charge Jharkhand said that the Modi government is going to do delimitation in the name of women's reservation, in which it is going to increase 850 seats in the Lok Sabha and about 2000 seats in the Assembly, but the basis of delimitation is being made on the 2011 census, which is not right. He said that if the BJP government wants to do delimitation then it should do it after the 2027 caste census so that all the figures can be revealed.
Yogendra Yogi said that Congress Party is in favor of women's reservation. Self. Rajiv Gandhi had given reservation in Panchayati Raj institutions, in which SC/ST and backward class women were given quota. Even when the Mahila Vandan Bill was being debated, the Congress Party had strongly raised the demand of giving quota to OBC women.
Yogendra Yogi said that OBC MPs in the Lok Sabha are about 25% while the OBC population is about 60%. According to the caste census conducted in Bihar and Telangana.
If quota is not given in Kota, it will be injustice for the OBC category. Yogendra Yogi said that tomorrow at Delhi Jantar Mantar, Congress OBC Department and SC Department will jointly hold a protest and demand to be given quota in Kota.
