Una, February 27:- While giving instructions to ensure continuous and effective monitoring of major development projects under construction in Una district, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said that any kind of laxity in development works will not be tolerated. He said that projects which require special speed should be reviewed regularly under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner. Monthly meetings should be held compulsorily at the departmental level and the Deputy Commissioner himself should review the progress in detail every month, so that all public welfare works can be completed within the stipulated time frame. He instructed the officers not to remain confined to the offices, but to go to the field and directly monitor the progress of the works.
He was presiding over a meeting of the District Public Grievance Redressal Committee held on Friday at the District Council Auditorium in Una. Chintpurni MLA Sudarshan Bablu, along with non-official members of the committee and department officials were present at the meeting.

**Expressed displeasure over delay in construction project of Mata Shri Chintpurni Temple**
Shri Agnihotri expressed strong displeasure over the unnecessary delay in the construction of Mata Shri Chintpurni temple building and beautification of the premises and gave clear instructions that all the works should be completed in a timely manner.
He said that if the Mata Vaishno Devi Temple can be developed in such a grand way, and if extensive development work is possible at Shri Vrindavan Dham, then why is there a delay in work at the Mata Shri Chintpurni Temple. He said that the failure to start work despite the availability of sufficient funds is unacceptable.
He stated bluntly that the temple should be built on the ground, not on paper. If political will is not reflected at the administrative level, how will the plans take concrete shape?
He said that despite receiving Rs 56 crore under the Prasad Scheme of the Union Tourism Ministry and Rs 75 crore available from the district administration, the expected progress is not visible.
The Deputy Chief Minister directed the district administration to send a team to study the management and development models of major temples in South India, so that lessons can be learned from the timely implementation and innovative systems employed there for projects worth thousands of crores of rupees. Similar modern and innovative initiatives should be implemented here and completed within a fixed timeframe.
Consider installing selfie points in the temple complex and along the route, and a replica of the temple at Amb railway station. He directed immediate strengthening of CCTV cameras, adequate lighting, clean and accessible toilets, and rain shelters from the temple to Bharwai. He also directed that the electrical wiring in the main market of Mata Shri Chintpurni be placed underground to provide relief to stranded devotees.

**Shri Mata Chintpurni Temple Ropeway Project to start soon**
The Deputy Chief Minister directed the speedy completion of the ropeway project related to the Shri Mata Chintpurni Temple, aiming to elevate religious tourism. He said that this is an ambitious project worth approximately 100 crore rupees, which will not only provide convenience to devotees but also strengthen the local economy.
To take this project forward, he asked to complete the work on priority basis by coordinating with public representatives, administration and local people so that the devotees can get the facility of safe and smooth travel.

**Ropeway project to be built in Pandoga at a cost of Rs 12 crore**
The Deputy Chief Minister directed the ropeway project in Pandoga, Haroli Assembly constituency, to proceed at full speed. He stated that administrative approval has been granted for the construction of a ropeway to the Vankhandi Mata Temple near the Vankhandi Rest House in the Pandoga area, at a cost of approximately ?12 crore. The ropeway will be constructed from the Hoshiarpur border to Pandoga, for which the tender process has been initiated. He directed the government to complete the ropeway construction and dedicate it to the public by October this year, so that tourism activities in the area can receive a boost.

**Bridge work should be done on priority, no missing link should be left.**
At the meeting, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the completion of billions of rupees worth of road and bridge projects in the district has significantly improved connectivity. However, the Executive Engineers of the district's five assembly constituencies should ensure that no "missing links" remain. The department and district administration should have comprehensive data on where work has been completed, where it is ongoing, and whether there are any areas where bridge construction is still needed.

**He said that the work on the bridges under construction should be completed on a timely basis** on a priority basis so that connectivity remains uninterrupted. He said that in the past, when the Swan River flooded, people on both banks would be cut off and traffic would be disrupted, but now the construction of several bridges has brought great relief to the public.
He directed that the work on five major bridges under construction in the district be regularly monitored and completed as a priority. He directed that a draft draft be prepared for the construction of a permanent concrete bridge in place of the Bailey bridge that was installed in place of the damaged bridge in Rampur on the Una-Santoshgarh road in 2024, and that it be included in the upcoming budget at all costs. He directed the Deputy Commissioner to ensure personal efforts for this.
While directing continuous monitoring of the progress of the Lathiani-Mandali bridge project, he said that regardless of the agency being constructed, the district administration should have up-to-date information and progress reports. He also directed timely completion of the construction work on the Pandoga-Tyuri bridge, the Loharli-Churdu bridge, and the bridge over the Swan River connecting Amb railway station and Gagret.

**Prepare a consolidated DPR for the renovation of tube wells**
While discussing water management issues, the Deputy Chief Minister stated that approximately 600 tube wells are operational in all the assembly constituencies of Una district. Those tube wells that require repair or reconstruction should be identified and a consolidated DPR should be prepared so that a proposal can be submitted for financial approval and the necessary remodeling work can be completed.
He directed that all tube wells should be given new serial numbers and assembly-wise updated data should be prepared, so that comprehensive planning as per the current requirements becomes possible.

**Promotion of water transport, instructions to explore possibilities in Bangana**
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the state government is working seriously to strengthen water transport in the state. An MoU worth ?68 crore has also been signed in this direction.
He said that the Govind Sagar Lake in the Bangana area of ??Una district offers immense potential for water transport and water-based tourism. If a practical and innovative proposal is prepared and submitted for the Bangana region, it could prove to be a significant initiative for the region. He directed the Deputy Commissioner to study the possibilities and prepare a concrete proposal in this regard.
Work on potato processing plant to begin soon
The Deputy Chief Minister directed that construction of the proposed potato processing plant in the Shri Chintpurni Assembly constituency be started soon. Land-related formalities have been completed.
He said that the construction agency, the Deputy Commissioner, and the local MLA should meet together to discuss and finalize the plant's layout so that work can begin. He said that the Chief Minister will be requested to lay the foundation stone for the project.
Explore the vast potential of eco-tourism
The Deputy Chief Minister directed that the vast potential for eco-tourism in Una district be identified and implemented in a planned and phased manner, so that new employment opportunities can be created for local people while conserving natural resources. The concerned departments should develop a concrete action plan in coordination with each other to this end.
In light of the problem of stray animals, Mr. Agnihotri emphasized the need to promote the fencing scheme operated by the Agriculture Department. He urged the Deputy Commissioner to submit a proposal to increase the budget under this scheme so that farmers have adequate resources to protect their crops and the scope of the scheme can be expanded more effectively.

**Instructions for strict action on contaminated water drainage**
During the meeting, the Deputy Chief Minister expressed serious concern over the lack of proper sewage disposal systems at some industrial units in the Tahliwal area and directed the administration to take immediate action. He urged the concerned industrial units to ensure full compliance with environmental standards and regulations.
He directed that the drain be constructed outside the populated area in an orderly manner, so that local residents do not face any inconvenience and that contaminated water can be safely drained away from the populated area. The entire cost of this work should be borne by the concerned and responsible industrial units.

**Chintpurni Mata Temple drinking water scheme to be inaugurated on 28th**
The Deputy Chief Minister said that approximately 12.25 crore rupees have been spent on the Shri Chintpurni Mata Temple and the surrounding panchayats, and that this drinking water scheme will be inaugurated on Saturday, February 28th.
MLA Sudarshan Bablu raised important issues
Sudarshan Bablu, MLA from the Shri Chintpurni Assembly constituency, prominently raised various public interest issues at the meeting. He urged that committee meetings be held every three months so that progress on development work could be regularly reviewed. Expressing gratitude for the instructions given for the development of the Mata Shri Chintpurni Temple, the MLA urged that comprehensive development work, similar to those in larger temples, be initiated soon and the foundation stone be laid soon.
Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal expressed his gratitude to the Deputy Chief Minister and assured that complete compliance of all the instructions given by the Deputy Chief Minister in the meeting will be ensured.
