Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, July 07, 2026:- Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Komal Mittal, Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Rakesh Kumar Sharma is holding block-level meetings with all fertilizer, seed, and pesticide dealers' associations in S.A.S. Nagar to ensure proper management of agricultural inputs. Following the instructions of senior officials, the Chief Agriculture Officer personally conducted a meeting with dealers of the Dera Bassi block at the local Block Agriculture Office to hold a serious discussion regarding the rumors spreading about a urea shortage.
He stated that farmers need not panic as an adequate stock of urea fertilizer is available in the district. During the meeting, the Chief Agriculture Officer directed all dealers to strictly adhere to government regulations regarding the stocking and sale of fertilizers, seeds, and pesticides. He emphasized that any form of black marketing or forced tagging will not be tolerated. 
The Chief Agriculture Officer instructed dealers to ensure transparent and equitable distribution of fertilizers to farmers, further warning that strict legal action will be taken against those violating the rules. It was also noted during the meeting that the Agriculture Department is closely monitoring the situation and every possible step will be taken to protect the interests of the farmers.
