Hoshiarpur: Daljeet Ajnoha In light of the current situation, Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain stated on Wednesday that there is adequate availability of petrol, diesel, and domestic LPG gas in the district, and there is no shortage of any kind.
Convening a meeting with the Food and Supplies Controller, the Petrol Pump Association, representatives of gas agencies, relevant sales officers from oil marketing companies, and the district-level coordinator of IOCL at the District Administrative Complex, the Deputy Commissioner stated that given the current situation, there is no shortage of oil or gas in the district, and there is no need for people to panic.
The Deputy Commissioner stated that there is adequate availability of petrol, diesel, and domestic LPG gas in the district. He clarified that oil companies are continuing to supply supplies, meeting people's needs. He appealed to the residents of the district to ignore any rumors and avoid unnecessary panic buying of petrol, diesel, or gas in light of the current situation.
He stated that the administration is continuously monitoring the situation and the supply of essential commodities is continuing smoothly. He also warned that anyone found hoarding petrol, diesel, or domestic gas will face strict legal action as per the rules.
During the meeting, representatives of petrol pump operators and gas agencies also assured the administration that they would continue to provide essential supplies to consumers on a regular basis and would not allow any artificial shortages to arise.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officials to keep a constant vigil on the market and immediately inform the administration of any rumors or irregularities so that appropriate action can be taken in time. He added that the SDMs at the subdivision level have also been instructed to monitor the situation.
