Santoshgarh/Una, July 27 (Rajveer Chopra):— Unknown thieves committed a theft late Sunday night at the Santoshgarh Municipal Council's solid waste management site, stealing two motors from the installed machinery. The incident came to light on Monday morning when sanitation workers arrived at the site for their daily duties.
According to reports, the workers found the locks on the site's main gate broken. Upon inspecting the premises, they discovered that two motors attached to the machinery were missing. Additionally, the thieves had attempted to remove a heavy motor from a large machine at the site but failed to extract it.
Upon discovering the incident, the sanitation workers immediately informed the Municipal Council officials. Recognizing the seriousness of the matter, Municipal Council President Anjana Chabba lodged a written complaint at the Santoshgarh police post, demanding a swift resolution to the case and strict legal action against the perpetrators.
This theft has caused financial loss to the Municipal Council and raised concerns about potential disruptions to the solid waste management system. The Municipal Council administration has urged the police to recover the stolen motors and arrest the accused promptly.
SI Rajesh Kumar, in-charge of the Santoshgarh police post, stated that a complaint has been received from Municipal Council President Anjana Chabba. A case has been registered based on the complaint, and an investigation is underway. Footage from nearby CCTV cameras is being examined, and the matter is being thoroughly investigated from various angles.
The police have stated that once the investigation is complete, the individuals involved in the theft will be identified and arrested without delay.
