Una, October 9 - To ensure law and order and traffic control in Una city during Diwali, Tehsildar Una Vipan Kumar held a meeting with officials from various departments on Thursday. He directed officials from Municipal Corporations Una, Santoshgarh, and Mehtpur-Basdehra to ensure that shopkeepers do not encroach on the land in their jurisdictions.
If any merchant is found encroaching, strict legal action will be taken against them. He added that the police department will ensure that unauthorized vehicles are not parked at Red Light Chowk and from the Old Bus Stand towards Hamirpur Road, so that the public does not face any inconvenience during traffic.
**Firecrackers will be sold only at designated locations
The Tehsildar stated that designated locations for the sale of firecrackers have been identified in Municipal Corporations Una, Mehtpur-Basdehra, and Santoshgarh. The Ramlila Ground, Una, has been designated for the sale of firecrackers under the Municipal Council, the ground in front of the Municipal Council, Mehtpur-Basdehra, and the Ramlila Ground, Santoshgarh, under the Municipal Council, Santoshgarh.
**Instructions issued regarding green firecrackers
The government has issued instructions regarding the safety of green firecrackers. It stated that green firecrackers should be stored in sheds made of non-flammable material, and the sheds should be at least three meters apart. The sheds should be constructed so that they do not face each other.
To ensure safety, oil and gas lamps will not be used within the sheds. Switches in every shop should be located adjacent to the wall, and a master switch will be required for each row.
Shops should have adequate water, fire extinguishers, and buckets filled with sand to deal with any fire situation.
The Tehsildar clarified that a license from the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of the jurisdiction is mandatory for setting up a firecracker stall. Without a license, the stocking and sale of green crackers will not be permitted.
