Nawanshahr, October 27- A large number of devotees paid obeisance on the second day of the three-day district-level Gurmat celebrations initiated by Guru Nanak Mission Sewa Society at JSFH Khalsa Senior Secondary School to commemorate the 556th birth anniversary of Sahib Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.
In today's event, renowned Panth Katha Vachaks and Kirtani Jathas connected the devotees with the history of the Guru by reciting various Katha-Kirtans. The Kirtan Darbar began with the recitation of Rehras Sahib Ji by Bhai Kulwinder Singh Sudha Majra. After that, the Kirtani Jatha of Bhai Gurpreet Singh Hazuri Raagi Gurdwara Raja Sahib Nabh Kanwal delighted the Sangat with a variety of kirtans of Amritmai Bani.
After them, the Jatha of Bhai Mehtab Singh Ji Jalandharwale enchanted the Sangat with a variety of kirtans of Bani. Bhai Gurdev Singh from Australia also created such an emotional atmosphere of spirituality through Gurbani Kirtan that the Sangat paid their respects to him amidst the echoes of cheers.
After them, Singh Sahib Giani Sultan Singh Ji, the great personality of the Panth Bhai Pinderpal Singh Ji, the chief patron of the society Giani Sarabjit Singh Ji reached the stage together and they jointly released souvenirs based on the activities of Guru Nanak Mission Seva Society and the annual calendar 2026 prepared by the society.
On this occasion, Panj Pyare Sahiban, Bhai Gurdev Singh Australia, Senior Member of Shiromani Gurdwara Committee S. Mahinder Singh Hussainpur and Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa Member SGPC and Former Vice President Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee were also present with him. After this, the great scholar of the Panth and famous narrator Bhai Sahib Bhai Pinderpal Singh Ji initiated the Gurmat thoughts.
He explained the last and thirty-eighth stanza of Japji Sahib, the chanted hymn of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, in a scholarly manner. During his address, he shared the life history of Guru Sahib Ji, focusing on the Jyoti Jyoti Purab of Dhan Dhan Sri Gobind Singh Ji today. He said that the Mahan Kirtan Darbar being held in Nawanshahr is unique in terms of format, discipline, stage control and many other aspects. Bhai Pinderpal Singh Ji was specially honored by the Panj Pyare Sahibans, Giani Sarabjit Singh and Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa.
On this occasion, the Chief Patron of the Society, Giani Sarabjit Singh and Chief Sewadar Surjit Singh thanked all the Sangats, Gurdwara Committees, religious and social service organizations as well as all the dignitaries for their continuous support to the Society. The special thing about today's event was that Singh Sahib Giani Sultan inspected the various services being run and met the Sewadars and increased their enthusiasm.
The stage service was performed by Giani Tarlochan Singh Khatkar Kalan. The Guru Nanak Mission Sewa Society honored the Kirtani Jathas and Katha Deodar personalities who attended today's Mahan Kirtan Darbar through the Panj Pyares. Special arrangements were made for tea, pakoras and Guru ke Langars during the event, which were served in abundance to the Sangats.
