Chandigarh, November 7 – With the aim of sensitizing students about the immortal legacy, teachings, and supreme sacrifice of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) organized a three-day seminar series dedicated to the 350th martyrdom anniversary of the Ninth Guru. These seminars were held from November 3 to 7 at sites associated with Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.
Providing details about this initiative by the Board, Punjab Education Minister, Mr. Harjot Singh Bains, stated that the route for this seminar series was carefully chosen, following the historic route taken by Bhai Jaita Ji (Baba Jeevan Singh Ji) to carry the sacred head of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib from Delhi to Sri Anandpur Sahib. This provided the students with a unique and impactful learning experience.
He informed that this three-day seminar series began on November 3rd at Senior Secondary School, Dayalpur Sodhian (Sis Sthan, Nabha Sahib). The seminar was held on November 6th at School of Eminence, Kiratpur Sahib, and concluded on November 7th at Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Sri Anandpur Sahib.
Mr. Harjot Singh Bains stated that over 2,600 students participated in these seminars and learned about the life, teachings, unparalleled martyrdom of "Hind Di Chadar" Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, and the unparalleled sacrifice of Mata Gujri Ji and the younger Sahibzadas. During these seminars, the heroic tales of the Ninth Guru's supreme sacrifice, indomitable courage, and unwavering courage in defending Dharma (truth and rights) were highlighted, giving the youth a vivid experience of the history associated with Guru Sahib.
Education Minister Mr. Bains commended the Board's initiative, saying that wherever the teachings of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji are present, there humanity triumphs. He said that it is a matter of pride to see today's children understanding and adopting the teachings of Guru Sahib. He said that this was not just a seminar, but a humble effort by the Punjab Government to connect the youth with our glorious history through education.
PSEB Chairman Dr. Amarpal Singh emphasized that the objective of this initiative is to inspire students to adopt the teachings of Guru Sahib and follow the path shown by him. He said that the true purpose of education is fulfilled only when youth learn to courageously walk the path of truth, inspired by great philosophy. He said that along with studies, we are guiding students towards becoming honest citizens of a civilized society.
