Amritsar, December 24:- The politics being played by the Punjab government in the matter related to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is a challenge to Sri Akal Takht Sahib, which the Sikh Panth will never accept. This was expressed by Shiromani Committee members Bhai Rajinder Singh Mehta, Advocate Bhagwant Singh Sialka, S. Surjit Singh Bhittewad and S. Amarjit Singh Bhalaipur in a statement issued.
The members said that the matter was investigated by the inquiry committee formed by Sri Akal Takht Sahib and as per the orders of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, the Inquiry Committee of the Shiromani Committee has taken action as per the report of Dr. Ishar Singh. They said that at that time some Sikh scholars and Sangat had approached the Shiromani Committee that this matter was related to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
Therefore, no police action should be taken in this regard, but the Shiromani Committee should take action on its own. He said that it is clear in the investigation report of Dr. Ishar Singh that this matter is about money manipulation and negligence by some employees, it should not be misled by propagating it as loss of form and sacrilege.
He said that at that time the Congress party was in power and for political gains they had staged a dharna on the way to Sri Darbar Sahib through Bhai Baldev Singh Wadala. Now the Speaker, Minister and MLA of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha belonging to the AAP, reaching this dharna and asking the police to register an FIR for their political gains is a direct challenge to Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
The Shiromani Committee members said that the current Punjab government has failed miserably and is not hesitating to play with Sikh sentiments to hide its failures. He told the Punjab Chief Minister that people's attention cannot be diverted from the failures of the governments by repeated dramas. Therefore, after the action taken as per the orders of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, no interference should be done in this matter. He appealed to the administrative officers not to become participants in any such action for the political interests of the government.
