Hansi: The first district-level Independence Day celebration of the newly formed Hansi district will be organized in the Government College campus in a joyful and dignified atmosphere. The district administration has started extensive preparations to make the celebration historic and memorable. In this sequence, on Wednesday, a meeting of officers of various departments was organized in the District Secretariat complex under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Rahul Narwal, in which the preparations for the celebration were reviewed in detail and the responsibilities of all departments were determined.
Presiding over the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Rahul Narwal said that this is the first district-level Independence Day celebration of the newly formed Hansi district, therefore every officer and employee should understand it as his responsibility and ensure discharge of his duties with full dedication, devotion and team spirit. He said that the celebration will be organized with full grandeur, discipline and in accordance with the spirit of national pride.
The Deputy Commissioner said that with the aim of reaching this historic occasion to the maximum number of citizens of the district, big LED screens will be installed at the general stand of the city and at major intersections. Through these screens, the live telecast of the celebration will be shown to the citizens, so that those who will not be able to reach the venue will also be able to witness every important moment of the first Independence Day celebration of the district.
In the meeting, all the arrangements for the Independence Day celebration were reviewed in detail and duties of officers of concerned departments were fixed for stage arrangement, seating arrangement, sound system, power supply, drinking water, refreshments, cleanliness, parking, security, traffic, cultural programs, parade, cultural programs and other necessary arrangements. The Deputy Commissioner gave clear instructions that all departments should complete their preparations in time with mutual coordination, so that no inconvenience arises during the celebration.
He directed the Health Department officials to ensure arrangement of a team of doctors, necessary medicines and ambulance equipped with full facilities at the venue, so that health services can be provided immediately when needed.
It was also decided in the meeting that from August 1 to August 10, a science exhibition will be organized in all schools of the district. In this exhibition, students will present various science and innovation-based models. The Deputy Commissioner said that three best students who present excellent models in the exhibition will be honored during the district-level Independence Day celebration. He directed the Education Department officials to motivate students for innovation and scientific thinking and ensure successful organization of the competition.
Deputy Commissioner Rahul Narwal directed all Heads of Departments to ensure that names of officers and employees doing excellent and commendable work in their respective departments are made available to the district-level committee by August 7, so that they can be honored on the occasion of Independence Day celebration. He said that honoring employees doing excellent work will inspire other officers and employees to work better.
It was also decided in the meeting that the full dress final rehearsal of the Independence Day celebration will be organized on August 13 in the Government College campus. The Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned departments to participate in the rehearsal with their full preparations at the scheduled time, so that all arrangements can be conducted smoothly during the main celebration.
He directed the Municipal Council and concerned departments to conduct a special cleanliness drive, beautification, drinking water arrangement and other civic facilities at the venue and surrounding area in time. Also, the Electricity Department was directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply and the Public Health Engineering Department to provide adequate drinking water.
The Deputy Commissioner said that Independence Day is not only a national festival but also an opportunity to express gratitude towards the brave freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the country's independence. He called upon all officers to play an active role in making this celebration successful, so that the first district-level Independence Day celebration of the newly formed Hansi district can become memorable for the citizens for a long time.
